“Doc” Wilcox

Charles “Doc” Wilcox worked in small engine salvage and repair for the majority of his adult and teenage years. Early on, Doc started refusing to throw anything away. "We only got so many places to put junk, and we're running out," he said. So he has spent his life trying to keep used machines — lawn mowers, chainsaws, and all things motorized — out of landfills. Some parts he recycles, some he trades away, and the vintage ones he collects and displays around his Columbia, Mo. garage.
